This week the Nobel Prize for Physics was awarded to Dr. David Wineland and Dr. Serge Haroche for their work on Quantum Systems. In honor of that award and to better understand their work, this week on the podcast we feature part of a talk given by David Wineland entitled “Atomic Clocks and Ion Trap Quantum Computing,” which took place at the University of Waterloo in February of this year. In that talk, Wineland explains things from the world of clocks, navigation and computing, that may just blow your mind.
