Resisting Chinese Construction Boom

Resisting Chinese Construction Boom

construction, china, chinese, road, house, baogen

Chinese duckfarmer Luo Baogen just finished building his house when the government knocked on the door. They wanted to build a road, they said, so he had to find another home. Mr Baogen refused because he would only be compensated with around a third of the money he just spent on his house. The government went on building the road anyway,  Baogen and his wife just had to live in the middle of it. The sight became a symbol of the resistance of house owners to the Chinese construction boom. But this week Mr Baogen gave in and let his house be demolished . Why exactly, isn’t sure.
